Gyatso; Tempest

Frontline, Ranged

A druid of fiery temper, Gyatso wields wind and storm against all who would approach the sacred groves of Cenarius.

For nimble-fingered players who enjoy aiming and timing.

Innate: Turbine

Creates a disc of air at the target point for a short duration. Allied units gain bonus attack rate while within the disc. The bonus climbs rapidly over the duration.

Thunderbolt

Drops a damaging bolt of lightning which lands on the far side of the target unit. The distance behind the target will be the same as the distance from Tempest to the target.

Whirlwind

Snatches units with a quickly moving tornado which traces out a circle. They remain invulnerable until deposited back where the tornado started.

Malnimbus [Passive]

Summons a permanent stormcloud companion for Tempest. It constantly rushes towards Tempest as if attached by elastic, and so its movement is determined by Tempest's. It strikes enemies beneath it with bolts of lightning, and has some flying vision.

Ultimate: Gale

Boosts Tempest's movement speed to 700+, grants unitwalking, and allows him to ram one enemy unit (ending the spell), dealing damage and knocking them away from him.

Notes:

  • Tempest is a fierce laning hero, and can achieve very consistent harassment with his Thunderbolt and Malnimbus in a skilled player's hands.
  • Thunderbolt is one of the most-cited examples of a cool RoW ability. It is also one of the most satisfying to nail from a distance. Good communication with allies can line up some otherwise impossible hits.
  • Thunderbolt has the somewhat disappointing quirk that its radius shrinks when used at very close range. This stopped the ability from being a free nuke when used in melee, but doesn't make much visual sense.
  • The rest of his abilities don't really fit, since the premise of the hero was to have a place to put Thunderbolt and Malnimbus.
  • Gale is too-often used as a free escape (which was much worse when it was an innate).
