Wavebreaker; Aquasoul

Frontline, Ranged

Practical elemental animation is all about conserving energy, and none does it better than Wavebreaker.

For conservative players who prefer to make the enemy play their game.

Innate: Siphon

Places the Siphon curse on an enemy hero. Whenever the enemy moves, Wavebreaker will be healed proportional to the movement. Lasts for 8 seconds, but expires faster if the enemy stands still.

Rip Tide

Launches two blasts of water, which each travel out and loop back to Wavebreaker, damaging and knocking enemies hit. They knock according to their direction of travel.

Water Wheel

Summons several jets of water which fall into orbit around Wavebreaker at a fixed radius. The wheel collapses after not dealing damage for a while.

Funnel

A weird double-blink with some knockback.

Superpressure

Marks five points in a line pointing away from Aquasoul, which start to explode into geysers after a short delay. They damage and knock enemy units away from themselves. Primarily a zoning tool.

Notes:

  • Aquasoul: a hero concept adapted from Eul's original DotA. Its abilities back then were a waterfall Shockwave, Mirror Image (with up to full damage dealt), a regeneration buff, and a huge damage/slow.
  • Several RoW versions tried to re-implement the hero: relying on Rip Tide and variations of Water Wheel, but without managing to produce a really fun result.
  • One of its iterations had an innate autocast which allowed its attacks to heal allies (heal scaling with attack damage). This was quickly recognised as being "healbot" behaviour, and eliminated.
  • The above was his final, still-unsatisfactory state.
