Geomancer

Obelik; Geomancer

Frontline, Melee

A titanic hulk of tauren brawn; Obelik is always in the front ranks, enduring and distributing the most vicious punishment.

For aggressive players who enjoy a headlong rampage.

Innate: Sediment

Toggle between granting bonus ability durations to nearby allied heroes, or reducing the ability duration of nearby enemy heroes.

Ancient Power

When activated, Obelik's next attack will deal additional damage and knockback the enemy unit. Knockback into destructables (trees, rocks) deals bonus damage as usual.

Stone Prison

Wrenches a wall of stone from the earth, forming a semicircle if cast far away, and a complete circle if cast nearby. The wall blocks movement, and is comprised of destructable rocks.

Seismic Spike

Forces a rock spike out of the earth at the target point, causing any destructables near it to explode, damaging enemies near them. The spikes themselves are destructables which may be targeted with subsequent casts. This ability has several separate charges with separate cooldowns.

Ultimate: Grindstone

Rolls a boulder in the target direction: starting from behind Obelik, and gradually picking up speed. Enemies it hits will be dealt damage, and have the Grindstone debuff for a long duration, causing them to lose armour as they take damage. Each time the grindstone hits an enemy unit, its speed resets.

Notes:

  • Geo has always been a monster: he's got a ton of health, high physical burst damage, and very dangerous initiation with his Prison.
  • He is vulnerable to kiting, and if he's not careful, can get knocked into his own rocks.
  • Often players like to buy Rocket Boots for him, which can be a very powerful initiation/burst combo.
  • Stone Prison dates back to DotA Outland, it was one of the spells incorporated from War3 modding sites that really stuck with the game over the years!
  • Grindstone was supposed to get a cool whirring/grinding sound effect on cast, but it never happened.
