Stumpy

Stumpy; Acrolith

Backline, Melee

Despite his stout stature, Stumpy is as fearsome an ancient as any, wielding the forest like an extension of his limbs.

For players who love to harass and annoy from a safe distance.

Innate: Barkskin [Passive]

Passively: Stumpy can attack trees to destroy them.

Active: Turns an allied hero into a tree for a short duration, making them invulnerable.

Caber Toss

At melee range, throws a target tree away from Stumpy. The caber travels a long way, damaging and knocking back any enemies that it hits.

Spore

Summons spores from the nearest 3-6 trees, which slowly float toward Stumpy. Should a spore touch an enemy, that enemy takes damage. If a spore touches an ally, that ally is healed.

Petal Bomb

Causes four explosions over four seconds at a fixed displacement from Stumpy, damaging enemies. Being fixed, the explosions will move with Stumpy.

Ultimate: Forest

Passively: While standing near a tree, Stumpy gains vision around that clump of trees.

Active: After a 3-second delay, snares any enemies near a tree.

Notes:

  • Stumpy is enjoyable for his Caber Toss, good sustain, and decent firepower, but is otherwise a weak concept. His innate and ultimate particularly have always been in flux.
  • He is a good carrier of Femur of Gul'dan, since he typically snipes with Caber and avoids direct combat.
  • A long time ago, his innate let him plant permanent trees on the map. Special exceptions had to be made to stop him blocking lanes.
  • Trivia: An 'acrolith' is a statue made from wood and stone. How appropriate.
  • Trivia: He was perhaps the first RoW hero to get a kill song: the Lumberjack Song from Monty Python plays if he gets a kill with Caber Toss.
